Healthy, Vegan, and Paleo Smoothies, Part I

Smoothies are a great snack or breakfast… if you get the ingredients right!  Beware of store bought smoothies though, as they may try to sell you on health factor, when it really falls short on nutrition value.  That’s why I’ve been collecting a list of great healthy smoothies to try out at home, where you can trust where your ingredients are coming from.  Here they are, with ingredients ranging from bananas to kale to chocolates!

Apple Banana Coconut Smoothie

This smoothie is my kind of smoothie… the kind where you only have a couple of ingredients, you mix it all up, and then it’s delicious and healthy!  It calls for apples, banana, and coconut milk!

Pina Colada Smoothie

This smoothie by Our Paleo Life is great for you if you love the pina colada taste, but not so much the alcohol part!  It consists of bananas, crushed pineapples, shredded coconuts, and coconut milk.

Kiwi and Kale Smoothie

This kiwi and kale smoothie by The Fitchen only consists of 3 ingredients (4 if you count ice!).  If you haven’t already heard, kale is great for you and so this would be a great smoothie to incorporate in to your day!

Cherry Banana Smoothie

This cherry banana smoothie by Zest and Zeal contains cherries, banana, coconut milk, chia seeds, and raw honey optionally.  Remember, if you are vegan to skip the honey!

Healthy Paleo Chocolate Smoothie

This smoothie by Gluten free on a shoe string is great if you want a smoothie and have a chocolate craving!  It calls for almond milk, medjool dates, bananas, and some cocoa powder.

Avocado Banana Spinach Smoothie

Peaches and Cake’s Avocado Banana Spinach Smoothie

This smoothie by Peaches and Cake is perfect for those of you that want to make a smoothie without almond milk or coconut milk.  You actually use coconut water instead!  (But you can still make it with almond milk if you’d like!)

  1. That chocolate smoothie looks divine!
    I’ve got some home-made coconut-butter chocolate brewing up right now. Just chocolate, coconut butter, coconut chips, and a dallop of honey. Yum!

    1. That does sound yummy! I’ve never tried adding coconut butter in my smoothies before… just might have to try it! 🙂
