Bacon Tilapia Bites

Sharing is caring!

Once upon a time, I realized I had to make a snack or appetizer for a party. That was how Bacon Tilapia Bites were born! So if you’re looking for an easy appetizer idea, here’s one! It only takes 2 ingredients, and requires minimum effort! To be honest, everything tastes better with bacon, so that is what gives it a delicious flavor.

About Tilapia:

I know, there’s a lot of controversy about Tilapia. Is it good or bad for you? Turns out the answer… depends! The long story short is that if you’re getting your Tilapia from the right sources, you could be benefiting from the fish rather than suffering from the negative effects. You can read more about it here.

Psst, If you are super against having Tilapia at all, you can try this recipe with Halibut!

Ingredients

  • 12 slices bacon , cut in thirds
  • 1 pound skinless Tilapia fillets , cut into 1 to 2 inch pieces
  • Toothpicks

Instructions

1.  Cut Tilapia in to pieces.

2.  Do the same to the bacon!

3.  Place bacon pieces on top of the tilapia pieces.  Pierce the toothpick through the bacon and the tilapia, and then back up through the bacon.

4.  Place pieces on baking sheet (I also use a layer of aluminum foil so it doesn’t stick to the baking sheet).

5.  Bake for about 15 minutes or until bacon and tilapia is cooked well through.

6.  Serve!
