Stir Fried Brussels Sprouts with Bacon

If you like Brussels Sprouts, have you ever tried stir frying them?  Yes, I’m Asian, and I love to stir fry everything… so WHY NOT BRUSSELS SPROUTS?  Turns out it is really delicious, and actually really easy.  SEE! We should ALL make this. So, here’s my recipe on how Stir Fried Brussels Sprouts with Bacon.

If you’re thinking, “Gross! Brussels Sprouts!”  Well, I don’t know why you are looking at this recipe then.  BUT, there are some good reasons to eat them!  They are high in Vitamin C, Fiber, Folate, and Antioxidants!  Also, I feel like if you think Brussels Sprouts are gross… maybe you just haven’t had them stir fried!  They’re not mushy and gross… they’re like little cabbages that rock your world (along with bacon, and bacon makes everything tastier)!

Ingredients

  • 4 strips bacon, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon cooking fat/oil of choice (I use butter)
  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts, halved
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon in a skillet over medium high heat, until evenly cooked.  Remove and set aside on paper towels.
  2. In the same pan now with delicious bacon fat, add butter.
  3. Add Brussels Sprouts and cook, stirring occasionally.
  4. Cover and cook until the Brussels Sprouts are tender.  This usually takes 10-15 minutes.
  5. Add back the bacon and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Serve!

I do love sprouts - certainly more so as an adult than a kid. Plus as you say they are so good for us which is always a bonus. A great recipe combo here, thanks for another great post!

Brussels sprouts are so underrated it makes me mad! They're honestly super tasty, really good for you, and this recipe is so simple that you can't go wrong - love it!
