Oh Snap! Let's Eat!

If St. Simons is a bit of a drive, maybe a BBQ joint in Atlanta will help!  Fox Brothers Bar-B-Q is kind of tucked away, so if you’re not purposefully looking for it or if it’s not anywhere you normally pass by, you’re not going to find it.  Yet, 3 PM on a random Tuesday afternoon, there were still plenty of people there to enjoy some Bar-B-Q.

So let’s just cut to the chase this time – here’s what we got from their menu:

Pulled Pork, Fried Okra, Collard Greens

Another dish:

Combo Plate – Pulled Pork and Beef Brisket, Coleslaw, Potato Salad

Now to be perfectly honest, I had this meal a while back, and I can’t fulllly remember if the meats are Pulled Pork and Beef Brisket but I have to admit it really was delicious, so I would suggest you try all the meats!

You can’t leave out the South if you want some good BBQ! It’s definitely one of my favorite styles of food, and one of the best places I’ve ever had it is probably Southern Soul on St. Simons Island, Georgia.  You might recall my visit last time to St. Simons and Jekyll Island located in south Georgia a while back.  Food was good then, and food there is good now!

But don’t just take it from me that Southern Soul is delicious, it’s also been featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-ins and Dives in the episode of “Old Time Attitude”.

Here’s some of what my friends and I ordered at Southern Soul:

• Beef Brisket Plate with Collard Greens and Fried Okra.  I am seriously getting hungry as I think about this and look at the picture below.  Beef, collard greens, fried okra with a big glass of sweet tea.  Nothing else I want more right now than this.

• Half slab of Ribs with Fried Okra and Mac and Cheese.  I’m not the biggest fan of Mac and Cheese, but those looked delicious, and the half slab or ribs made me feel like I should’ve ordered multiple entrees.
