What was your carb and fiber count? Mine came out pretty high.

Love it! I added a little extra coconut milk in it and then topped it with some nut butter and enjoy life chocolate chips, I also added chocolate chips into the batter. Delish!

I didn't really care about it being paleo, I just had a sweet craving. I had no cocoa powder so I used trader joes sipping cocoa and omitted honey. It did come out dense, but t poked a few holes in it and poured some coconut milk over it. Added chopped almonds on top. Delicious without being sickly sweet or "fake" chocolate tasting. Ate 1/2 tonight, saving the rest to have with coffee in the morning 😉

Yep! It's just awesome to have a sweet treat so easy and so fast!

I was really have chocolate withdrawals and didn't want to make a full batch of cookies for fear I would eat them all! This recipe was perfect! I used ghee instead of butter, added a few Enjoy LIfe Chocolate Chips, and everything else was exactly as the recipe calls for. The batter was delicious, so I knew the cake would be too. When it came out of the microwave it smelled and looked so good I was super tempted to risk the "I can't wait tongue burn" and just dive in!!!
Thank you for sharing 🙂

I love this!
I read a lot of comments before making it and I took some suggestions that others had made. I made it with half coconut flour and half almond flour. I also cut the cocoa to only 2tablespoon and gave a dash of cinnamon. I love it!

I read through a lot of comments before making this so I took some of the advice given by others.
I made it with half coconut flour and half almond flour. I was low on honey so I used maple syrup instead. I cut the cocoa down to 2 tablespoons and added a dash of cinnamon. It was wonderful! Absolutely wonderful! I have a small 900watt microwave and it took 3 minutes for it to cook.

I made this today and it was really good! I used ghee instead of butter and added a few raspberries into the mix as I had some to use up. I did mine in the oven and it was pretty perfect after 25 minutes at 175 degrees (or 350, depending on conversions). I think it could have been a tiny bit dry, but the berries added some moisture so it worked out pretty well.

I used Oat Flour by accident and Ghee instead of butter (that was intentional) and it turned out fluffy, moist and PERFECT! Had to nuke for an extra 30 seconds so my microwave may not be as strong as others. Also, I added fresh ground cinnamon and a dash of salt. I would not use salt if you use salted butter. A little bit of coconut milk or organic milk ice cream with it knocked out my sweet tooth on it's butt. It seriously tasted like a decadent dessert and I could not even eat the whole thing. THANK YOU for this one! I know oat flour and butter are not Paleo but still a healthier treat that is so delish!
tsaitina says
Dang! That sounds delicious!!
kate t says
ok to Use almond or oat flour? I do not follow paleo.
tsaitina says
Hey, I've actually never tried oat flour with this recipe, but if you use almond flour, I think that should work!
Amy says
I have made this twice this week for dessert! Both on nights where I really just needed some comfort food! Super easy and so delectable! Thank you so much for this awesome go to quick dessert recipe!!!!!

Just made this and it was so good..
Used almond/coconut milk and Maple syrup instead..
A little dry but didn't matter (next time might add a bit more liquid)...Only ate half and Hubbie had the other half..
Next time will try coconut oil instead of butter as we both love coconut...
So easy and quick to make if you feel like something a little sweet...:)
Evelyn says
I made this tonight, using egg whites instead of the egg. Enjoyed it with a dollop of almond butter. Delicious! Thank you.
PS, have you personally tried using coconut oil instead of the butter? I felt guilty using that amount
tsaitina says
I have! Both works really. I use coconut oil or butter depending on which one I have in my fridge or how I feel that day! 🙂
Bella says
I am new to Paleo and loving most of the recipes I find online. I followed this one to the letter - it was very dry so to save it I added cut strawberries while still hot and a little sauce. Probably won't try this again - always disappointing when it doesn't turn out.
tsaitina says
Aw, I'm sorry it didn't work out for ya, Bella! If you do want to try again - I suggest replacing the coconut flour with almond flour! The dryness is a coconut flour thing so this should do the trick 🙂
janey says
Bahaha. Love it! I'm sure those Paleolithic people got a lot of use out of their microwaves
tsaitina says
Ha! I know you're kidding but this totally reminds me of a fun fact: If paleo people actually ate like people from the Paleolithic Age did, then we would all starve to death... because none of the veggies and meat around that era is even around today! So it always makes me giggle a little when people think that we are just trying to be caveman, instead of the fact that we're trying to eat more real food and cut out processed junk.
