The Hipster Pier 2 Art District

I know you are curious about what American or Western food is like in Taiwan... but before I jump in to all the yummy food, let me give you some info in regards to this Art District because it's pretty interesting:

Pier 2 Art District in Kaohsiung Taiwan
Pier 2 Art District in Kaohsiung Taiwan

The Pier 2 Art District (高雄市駁二藝術特區) used to be a harbor, and the entire art district uses all the old warehouses by the harbor.  For example, the main Pier 2 art center building used to be a warehouse that stored sugar and fish powder.  This gives the entire place a really unique, and almost 'hipster-like' feel to me.

The art is generally Modern Art, and the audience is mostly a younger crowd.  There are several different museums and galleries here, and you'll find random artsy statues hanging around on the streets.  The scenery is also pretty nice, and you are by the Love River.

Now back to the food at Pasadena.  There's a few different Pasadena restaurants scattered around Kaohsiung.  The ones located in other locations are themed to be French or Italian.  I've never visited them before, but from what I heard they were more 'fancy' than the one I did visit in the Art District.

The Pasadena in Kaohsiung's Art District (帕莎蒂娜駁二倉庫餐廳), like the art galleries around it, is located in an old warehouse by the harbor.

The decorations inside the restaurant also has a artsy feel to it. Food-wise, I didn't get to eat much because I was with a large group of people, what I did have was pretty good.

My favorite was probably the seafood pizza!  It's got shrimp, squid, some more seafood I can't remember, different types of cheese, tomatoes, and onions. I suggest clicking on the image below to get a gooooood look 🙂

They also have a cute little bar in the corner, and in the other room is the Pasadena bakery where you can pick up some baked goods if you are a fan of those things:

It was! Unfortunately, I'm slightly allergic to shrimp so I could only eat two of them 🙁 But the two I had were very tasty 🙂

I gladly appreciated the photos, especially the seafood pizza, it looks great, and full of delicious toppings, about the shrimp salad, I tasted it personally on one of our world food trip, with my co-chefs, and what can I say it is indeed great and full of flavors.

Thanks for the comment! I'm actually not the biggest pizza fan, but that pizza was quite unique and so I enjoyed it 🙂
