If you've ever wondered what a French Dip sandwich would taste like dipped in Vietnamese pho broth, LeDip at Halidom Eatery has the answer.

We recently visited LeDip for a hosted tasting and got to meet Chef Thai, who treated us to a huge spread of sandwiches, Vietnamese-inspired dishes, fusion egg rolls, and even a few new menu items that hadn't officially launched yet.
And seriously, everything we tried was so good.
LeDip at Halidom Eatery
LeDip is located inside Halidom Eatery in Atlanta, a food hall with a variety of different restaurants and cuisines under one roof.

The concept at LeDip combines classic sandwiches and Vietnamese flavors, so you'll find everything from French Dip sandwiches to bánh mì, along with some creative dishes that are a little harder to categorize.
We started with what I was probably the most curious about: the French Dip.
French Dip with Au Jus or Pho Broth
The French Dip is made with thinly sliced prime rib 🤤🤤🤤 topped with caramelized onions, provolone cheese, and house-made horseradish sauce on a toasted baguette.

But the fun part is the dipping broth.
You can order it with the traditional au jus, or go the Vietnamese-inspired route and get pho broth instead.
Of course, I couldn't decide which one I wanted, so Chef Thai let us try both.
And after trying them side by side... I still couldn't decide!
The au jus gives you that rich, classic French Dip flavor, while the pho broth adds all those fragrant Vietnamese flavors to each bite. They were completely different experiences, and I genuinely liked both.
If you visit with someone else, honestly, get one of each and share.
BBQ Pork Bánh Mì
We also tried the BBQ Pork Bánh Mì.
It comes on a crispy toasted baguette filled with BBQ pork, house-made pâté, mayo, pickled carrots and daikon, cucumber, cilantro, jalapeños, and a little soy sauce.

I loved the contrast between the savory pork and pâté, crunchy vegetables, tangy pickles, and that crisp baguette.
New Vietnamese Spring Rolls
Chef Thai also let us preview some dishes that were getting ready to join the menu.
One was a fresh Vietnamese spring roll filled with shrimp and BBQ pork and served with a creamy peanut dipping sauce.

These are the fresh rice paper rolls, rather than the fried Vietnamese egg rolls, so they were light and refreshing next to some of the richer dishes we tried.
BBQ Pork Vermicelli Noodle Bowl
Another upcoming dish was the BBQ pork vermicelli bowl.

The bowl came loaded with vermicelli noodles, BBQ pork, tofu, and fresh vegetables.
What makes LeDip's version a little different is the sauce.
Traditional Vietnamese vermicelli bowls are commonly served with a fish sauce-based nước chấm, but LeDip serves theirs with a soy-based sauce that you pour over the noodles and toss together.
If you prefer the traditional fish sauce, though, Chef Thai told us you can request that instead.
I liked having the soy-based option, especially since it makes the dish approachable for people who may not be big fans of fish sauce.
Bacon Cheeseburger and Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls
Then we got into the really fun fusion food.
LeDip has fried egg rolls filled with flavors you definitely don't expect to find inside a Vietnamese-style egg roll wrapper.

We tried a Bacon Cheeseburger Egg Roll, made with turkey bacon and served with Cajun mayo, and a Buffalo Chicken Egg Roll served with ranch.
Are they traditional Vietnamese food? Absolutely not.
Were they delicious? Yes. 😂
These would be especially fun to order for the table and split as an appetizer.
Calamansi Juice
Chris also tried a cup of calamansi juice, which he really enjoyed.
Calamansi is a small citrus fruit commonly used throughout Southeast Asia. Its flavor is tart and citrusy, somewhere in the general neighborhood of lime, lemon, and orange.
After eating our way through that entire table, a cold citrus drink was pretty perfect.
Meeting Chef Thai
One of my favorite parts of the visit was getting to meet Chef Thai and hear a little more about the food while we tasted everything.
We were able to try several dishes that were still being developed for the menu, which made the tasting especially fun.
There was clearly a lot of thought behind combining familiar Vietnamese ingredients and flavors with dishes like French Dips, vermicelli bowls, and even cheeseburger egg rolls.

Is LeDip Worth Visiting?
Absolutely.
I originally wasn't sure what to expect from a restaurant centered around French Dip sandwiches and Vietnamese-inspired food, but the combination works surprisingly well.
If I had to pick the dish that stood out the most, I would probably start with the French Dip with pho broth, simply because I haven't had anything quite like it before.
Although apparently I need to go back and conduct another au jus versus pho broth taste test, because I still haven't chosen a winner.
If you're visiting Halidom Eatery in Atlanta, definitely add LeDip to your list.
