If you're craving hot pot in the Duluth and want lots of variety, 9292 Shabu is a solid spot to check out. We went recently and did their all-you-can-eat hot pot with meat, and it ended up being one of those meals where you can really take your time, try a little of everything, and... well, eat way too much LOL.

One thing I really appreciated is that 9292 Shabu isn't just "veggies and broth." The setup gives you flexibility depending on how hungry you are and what you're in the mood for.
Here's a little look at what we got:
How the All-You-Can-Eat Works
9292 Shabu offers a few different ways to order, which makes it great for groups:
- All-You-Can-Eat Hot Pot + Meat - unlimited access to the hot pot bar plus meat ordered to the table
- All-You-Can-Eat Hot Pot Bar (No Meat) - unlimited vegetables, noodles, tofu, fish cakes, dumplings, and more. Despite the name, this option isn't just for vegetarians - there's a wide variety of hot pot ingredients beyond vegetables, so it still feels very filling and customizable.
- À La Carte Meats - if you choose the hot pot bar only, you can order meat separately by the plate too.
We chose the all-you-can-eat hot pot with meat, which meant we didn't have to think too hard about limits and could just enjoy the experience.
Hot Pot Bar: Way More Than Just Vegetables
Calling it a veggie bar doesn't really capture how extensive it is. The hot pot station includes:
- A wide variety of leafy greens and vegetables (bok choy, napa cabbage, bean sprouts, etc.)
- Fish cakes / meatballs
- Multiple types of tofu
- Dumplings (pork, beef, veggies)
- Potatoes, sweet potatoes, Japanese pumkins, etc.
- Several kinds of noodles
- Eggs
- All sorts of mushrooms

It's easy to start light and then build heartier bowls as your broth develops more flavor.
Broth & Sauce Options
You choose your broth at the table, with multiple options available (including milder and spicier choices). They have a lot of new broths since the last time I went! Even some Hai Di Lao broths! My fiancé got the spicy dashi, and I got the regular dashi (but later I actually added kimchi and spicy stuff from the station to make it spicy haha).
There's also a self-serve sauce station, where you can mix your own dipping sauce using soy sauce, garlic, scallions, chili oil, sesame oil, and more.
If you like tweaking flavors as you eat, this part is especially fun.
Meats and Seafood
Meats are ordered separately and brought to the table, rather than being self-serve. Options typically include a mix of beef, pork, chicken, and sometimes seafood. Portions come sliced thin, perfect for quick cooking in hot pot.
We ordered the ribeye, lamb, clams (I like how when it cooks the clam juice adds to the broth), calamari/squid, and bulgogi. The ribeye and lamb was my fave!

If you're someone who prefers more vegetables and noodles, you can stick with the hot pot bar and just add meat as needed.
Cooked Foods & Side Dishes
In addition to the hot pot ingredients, there's also a small selection of ready-to-eat dishes, which is great while waiting for your pot to come to a boil:
- Spicy pork
- Japchae
- Kimchi
- Spring rolls
- Other rotating Korean-style sides
These sides help make the meal feel more complete and less like you're waiting around to cook everything yourself.
Drinks & Dessert
Drinks are included with the meal, and there's also dessert at the end. One highlight is the shaved ice, which is refreshing and light after a rich, savory hot pot session.
