Guacamole is one of my favorite easy dips to make at home! It's creamy, fresh, flavorful, and comes together in just a few minutes. This version is loaded with tomato, onion, garlic, cilantro, lime, and a little cumin, plus crispy bacon for an extra savory twist. If you prefer a classic vegetarian or vegan guacamole, you can simply leave the bacon out.

I originally made this Easy Guacamole with Bacon to serve alongside Steak Fajitas, but it's also delicious with tacos, burrito bowls, tortilla chips, or just about any Mexican-inspired meal.
For something a little different, try serving it with my Homemade Wonton Chips for a fun crispy dipping option!
Easy Guacamole with Bacon
Guacamole is surprisingly easy to make at home, and fresh homemade guacamole tastes so much better than most store-bought versions.
Avocados give the dip its rich, creamy texture, while fresh tomato, onion, cilantro, garlic, and lime add plenty of bright flavor. I also add a little ground cumin and crispy bacon to this version for an extra savory bite.
Ingredients
- 2 ripe avocados, halved and pitted
- 3 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 Roma tomato, chopped
- ⅓ cup chopped onion
- 2 garlic cloves, minced, or about 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
- Juice of 1 lime, or about 2 tablespoons lime juice
- ½ teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt, to taste
For vegetarian or vegan guacamole: Simply leave out the bacon.
How to Make Guacamole with Bacon
Start by cooking the bacon until crispy. I like to fry mine in a skillet or cast iron pan, especially if I'm making another dish afterward. You can save the bacon grease and use the same pan to cook something like steak and onions for fajitas.
While the bacon cooks, chop the tomato, onion, garlic, and cilantro.

Add the avocados to a mixing bowl along with the chopped tomato, onion, garlic, cilantro, lime juice, cumin, salt, and crumbled bacon.

Using a fork, mash everything together until the guacamole reaches your preferred consistency. I like mine creamy but still a little chunky.
Taste and add additional salt or lime juice if needed.
And that's it! Homemade guacamole really is that easy.

What to Serve with Guacamole
Of course, tortilla chips are always a great choice, but guacamole can be used for so much more.
Serve it with tacos, fajitas, nachos, burrito bowls, grilled meats, or veggies. I especially love it with my Steak Fajitas.
You can also scoop it up with these crispy Homemade Wonton Chips. It's not traditional, but the crunchy wonton chips are so good with creamy guacamole!

Here's me putting some in my fajitas!
