As you may already know – I love food. I love to cook and I love to eat. So I know what food lovers and cooking enthusiasts want for Christmas! LOL – all jokes aside, here’s the perfect gift guide – The best gifts for people that like to cook! From air fryers to herb growing kits and more awesome ideas!
Instant Pot / Pressure Cooker
Starting with the most obvious – if they haven’t gotten an Instant Pot yet, get them one! It’s so easy to make a batch of delicious food (ex: Beef Bourguignon Instant Pot Recipe)!
There’s so many different ones you can get, and different sizes, so when you’re looking for the perfect sized pressure cooker, you may want to think about the right size.
The most popular pressure cooker size is 6 quarts, perfect for small families and couples. A smaller sized instant pot is the 3 quart – which is perfect for folks that want to cook for themselves. Then you got the 8 quarts or larger sizes – perfect for larger families or those that want to meal plan lots of food, for example.

Air Fryer
Air Fryers are ALL the rage right now. It’s not hard to see why. It’s so easy to make a delicious meal – from entrees like my garlic parmesan wings and teriyaki chicken, to side veggies (ex: potatoes, broccoli, green beans, baby carrots). So I would say that if your foodie friend doesn’t already have an air fryer, you may want to gift them one!
There are basically two types of air fryers out there. One is the basket air fryer, and the other is the air fryer oven. Both are basically convection ovens. There’s a couple of differences though, the basket one is has limited capacity, but is easier to toss the food and use. The oven ones are bigger and usually more expensive, but you get to watch it cook and there’s usually more cooking functions too.
Spice rack
If your foodie friend loves to cook, they will need a nice spice rack. There are many fancy ones out there, but even a simple one can be super handy to have and receive as a gift!
Cookbooks
This one maybe an obvious one, but find out their favorite type of food, and do some research on the best cookbooks around! You may even buy some of the ingredients and cook some of the dishes together at some time!
Here’s some awesome cookbooks on Amazon!
Wine, etc.
What goes with delicious food? Wine of course! Remember that wine pairings is a thing. There are wine subscriptions out there that are super cool – check out this post on some of the best wine subscriptions!
You can also purchase a fancy wine book with their favorite wine. I was gifted this present as I am known to be a wine lover once and it is awesome – Wine Folly!
Meat and Food Subscriptions
Of course you could just show up with… meat, but that’s not what I actually meant. I meant Meat Subscription Boxes! There’s actually a bunch of different ones out there to try nowadays. Two of the popular ones are ButcherBox and Omaha Steaks, but feel free to do some shopping around for the one you see most fit!
Other than meat subscriptions, you can also purchase other types of food subscriptions. Check out Cratejoy for options.
Hot Sauce
In my personal opinion, hot sauce makes everything more delicious, so you can always gift a variety of unique hot sauces to someone. One time, I purchased several of my favorite hot sauces from my Chinese supermarket to assemble a gift bag full of special hot sauces for a hot sauce lover!
I’ve also stumbled across this super interesting hot sauce – Truff, made with truffle oil! They actually sell a variety pack that is perfect for gifting. They’re so good and I actually love hot sauce in my bloody mary and add some in there from time to time!
If you take it one step beyond, and think outside the box – you can also think of merchandise! For example, my nephew’s in love with Sriracha (I can’t believe it but even more than I am!) and I was able to hook him up with all sorts of Sriracha merchandise!
Here’s where you can get it:
- Sriracha Hot Sauce Keychain 1.7oz (Sauce Not Included)
- MeMoi Hot Sriracha Bamboo Blend Crew Socks
- Huy Fong Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce Officially Licensed Insulated Can Cooler (Size – 12 oz.) – Great Hot Sauce Lover Gift!
- Should I Put Sriracha On This Funny Pie Chart Hot Sauce Gift T-Shirt
- Sriracha Official Hot Chili Sauce Men’s Graphic T-Shirt
Another thing for your spicy food lover? Make your own hot sauce kits! It’s not only fun but you also get to actually eat the thing you make – how awesome is that?
Oyster Mushroom Log
Now this is a cool idea – if the foodie you are buying a gift for loves mushrooms, you can gift them an Oyster Mushroom Log! They can grown their own oyster mushrooms – and if you’re not sure what that is check out my article about all the different types of mushrooms and what you can do with them!
Herb Growing Kit
I absolutely love this idea because I love cooking with fresh herbs! This present is perfect for folks that also don’t have a backyard/garden to plant things – they can still have fresh herbs to cook with!
Family Recipe Cutting Board
Another cool idea is a personalized cutting board. Of course it doesn’t have to be a family recipe, it could be any recipe, or even just their name or whatever their favorite quote is. You can find personalized cutting boards on Etsy!
Dutch oven
You’ve probably heard of dutch ovens before but didn’t know why they’re cool. Basically dutch ovens are cool because you can place it inside an oven, and they will conduct heat and transfer it to the food inside from all directions. They are great for slow cooking and retaining moisture in the food inside for long cooking.
I mention it in here as I think people tend to forget it exists and that it makes a pretty decent fancy present! Also you don’t only have to use it for slow cooking.
Molcajete
Mexican food lovers will love receiving a Molcajete as a present! A molcajete is a large mortar and pestle made from volcanic stone used to prepare Mexican food, particularly salsas.

You’ve might’ve seen them in a Mexican restaurant – such as with guacamole inside, or for example my favorite chicken and steak molcajete I order at my local Mexican restaurant!
Knife
I’m surprised that I’ve been cooking for this long and never realized how crappy my knives were until earlier this year! I was cooking at a friends house and I realized their knife cuts through meat so much better than mine.
After that, I bought a nice knife from Misen and I never looked back! So I definitely recommend buying a nice knife or perhaps knife set for food and cooking enthusiasts!
