You’ve probably always heard of how great salmon is for you.  It’s true!  Salmon is a great source of the “good” cholesterol, omega-3 fatty acids.  It’s good for metabolism, cardiovascular health, and brain functions!  But my favorite thing about salmon is that it is also delicious – and really easy to make!  Here’s an easy recipe – Pan Seared Lemon Basil Salmon. Read more here!

This recipe I made for just myself. So the portion is for one. However, if you are making it for more people, you can just multiply the quantity. Double it for two, as an example.

Ingredients

  • 1 salmon fillet ( ~6-8 oz)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter/ghee
  • 1 lemon

Instructions

Cut the lemon in half, and slice the center, while cutting the rest in to wedges.

In a bowl, mix together garlic powder, basil, and salt. Then, rub the mix on to the Salmon evenly.

In a skillet, heat butter or oil of choice on medium heat. Add Salmon to skillet for about 5 minutes.

Flip it to the other side and cook for another 5 minutes or until cooked thoroughly.  Salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork.

Squeeze 2 lemon wedges over the salmon and turn off the heat. Just FYI – we’re doing this at the end so that the lemon juice doesn’t become bitter.

Garnish the salmon with lemon slices and serve!
