Ground Pork Stir Fry is so easy to make and SO delicious - like a burst of flavor in your mouth! And you can serve it with rice OR noodles!

Jump to:
We do stir fry ground pork with lots of different things, but this was inspired by the fact that I had too much wonton fillings after wrapping up a batch of wontons the other day.
I do not like wasting food. I try to reuse everything I can. So of course I was going to reuse the fillings!
But you do not need to use wonton fillings for this, you can just use ground pork! This recipe is written on how to just use ground pork, but if you use wonton fillings, you do not need to marinade the ground pork.

Why You'll Love This Recipe
- Quick & Easy - Ready in under 30 minutes, perfect for busy weeknights.
- Full of Flavor - Savory ground pork tossed with garlic, peppers, and chili bean paste (Doubanjiang) for that Sichuan-style kick.
- Flexible - Serve it over steamed rice, toss it with noodles, or pair it with simple veggie sides.
- Customizable Heat - Use spicy Doubanjiang for extra fire, or mild versions for a family-friendly dinner.
- Zero Waste Friendly - Great way to use up leftover wonton filling, or just cook with fresh ground pork.
About the Ingredients
Ground Pork - Tender, juicy, and perfect for soaking up flavors. If using leftover wonton filling, skip the marinade step.
Chili Bean Sauce / Doubanjiang (豆瓣醬) - A fermented paste made with broad beans, soybeans, and chilies. Adds a deep, spicy-savory flavor. Choose a hot or mild version depending on your spice preference. (Here's one on Amazon if you can't find any - Sichuan Pixian Broad Bean Paste)

Garlic - Roughly chopped garlic infuses the oil and pork with aromatic depth.
Bell Peppers - Add sweetness and crunch that balances the richness of pork and the spice of Doubanjiang. You can also try other peppers for variation. Or even other veggies!
Green Onions - Optional garnish that adds freshness and a light onion bite.
Soy Sauce, Sesame Oil & Cornstarch - The marinade base that tenderizes the pork and gives it glossy, flavorful coating.
Sugar & Salt - Sugar balances the heat and salt rounds out the flavors.
How to Stir Fry Ground Pork (Step by Step)

- Salt, to taste
- 3 green onions, chopped (optional)
In mixing bowl, mix well ground pork, cornstarch, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Allow this to marinade for about 15 minutes.

Storage & Reheating
- Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
- Reheating: Reheat quickly in a hot skillet or wok for 2-3 minutes. Add a splash of water or broth if it looks dry.
- Freezing: You can freeze it, but keep in mind the peppers may soften too much. If freezing, store in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months.
FAQ
Can I use leftover wonton or dumpling filling for this recipe?
Yes! If you're starting with leftover filling, you can skip the marinade step and go straight to cooking.
What if I don't like spicy food?
No problem - use a non-spicy Doubanjiang, or cut the amount down to 1 tablespoon. The dish will still be flavorful.
Can I substitute Doubanjiang with something else?
Yes, you can use Gochujang (Korean chili paste) for a slightly sweeter, smoky heat.
What other veggies can I add?
This stir fry is very flexible - try zucchini, snap peas, carrots, onions, or even mushrooms alongside the pork.
What should I serve with it?
It's delicious with steamed rice, but you can also toss it with noodles for a quick one-pan meal.
