What to marinate steak in?
There are a lot of ways to marinade your steak! It’s really up to your personal preferences, but this is a simple marinade that we use:
- Olive Oil: Olive oil will help the meat stay moist
- Soy Sauce: Adds flavor and saltiness.
- Lemon juice: Adds acidity which will bring out some of the other flavors and also tenderize the meat.
- Garlic: Flavor! I love garlic so it’s hard for my to find a dish where I don’t add garlic – such a delicious flavor.
- Black Pepper: This is optional but adds extra flavor also.
How to grill marinated steak
Since this marinade includes oil, it will not stick during grilling. So you can grill it like a normal steak. If the meat you choose is very lean or maybe it’s just not very oily, you will want to brush on some oil to prevent sticking.
Which cut of steak to use?
My go to cut of steak to grill is Ribeye! It’s juicy, marbled, and delicious. But this is really personal preference.
