Spinach Stir Fry with Garlic

This Spinach Stir Fry with Garlic is an easy side dish that I make quite often. The garlic makes the spinach aromatic, and both spinach and garlic is very healthy for you so it’s not only a tasty dish, but also a nutritious one.

My favorite thing to do is to buy the pre-washed baby spinach from the salad aisle, and use that. Saves time on washing and cutting up the spinach for sure.

However, if you prefer to buy a bunch of spinach you can do that also of course.

Spinach Health Benefits

There’ a reason Popeye ate so much spinach… it’s super healthy for you! It’s low in calories, while being an excellent source of vitamin K, vitamin A, magnesium, folate, manganese, iron, calcium, vitamin C, vitamin B2, potassium, and vitamin B6.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz spinach
  • 4-6 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
  • Salt, as desired

Directions

Heat oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.

Add garlic and cook stirring for about a minute or until the garlic is aromatic.

Add spinach and stir fry 2 minutes until spinach begins to wilt. If it does get a little ‘dry’ add more oil.

Add salt as desired, and stir some more to make sure it’s evenly distributed.

Remove from heat and serve.
